Rules Of Composition


Balance
This image portrays balance well by having each side symmetrical. 
Simplicity
Having everything but the subject negative space helps make it simple and easy to look at. 



Leading Lines
The fence lines help lead to the subject. 


Perspective
The subject is a different perspective than normal which emphasizes it. 


Harmony
The photo is very balanced and has soft tones which make it feel peaceful. 


Framing
The negative space from the window helps to frame the subject in the middle. 


Repetition
The flower petals repeat several times which create the repetition effect. 


Avoiding mergers 
The background was out of focus to make sure the puppy and chair didn't merge with anything in the background.


Rule of thirds
The subject is in the top right corner of  a third intersection.

    These are great examples, I especially like the negative space in the photos.

    I really like the framing picture. The way the light comes from behind and halos around the subject is very nice.
